People often ask me why I enjoy painting. It is one of those things that just comes naturally to me. I have a second nature that looks at things from the perspective of a paint brush. When look at a tree or a cloudy sky, I look at the branches or the clouds as to how I would paint them. Some things such as a sunrise of the reflection on a lake express themselves in a complex way that is hard to describe. Often, I spend hours trying to interpret the voice of my paintings. This is what makes painting so challenging.

My preoccupation with painting has led me to look at the world from the vantage point of a paint brush. A bike ride across town can lead to an amazing sunrise. A ski trip to Colorado or a vacation to Venice yields hundreds of opportunities to create the next amazing work of art. Over the past year I have recorded over 1,000 pictures of beauty. I find landscapes in particular to be captivating since nature is the purest and most authentic form of beauty. Most of my paintings are my interpretation of the wonder of nature. I guess you could say that I am the ultimate plagiarist because I attempt to copy the amazing attraction of nature.
