Brooks Gentleman

I spent much of my time as a child before I went to college with my grandfather. John Woolson Brooks was an accomplished architect and artist from Des Moines, Iowa. I would spend every weekend with him, engaged in some form of art or construction project. Since I started at such a young age, the skills I learned are deeply embedded in my personality.

Unfortunately, when I started college I became totally focused on earning the credentials such as an economics degree and an MBA to become successful in business. Over the past thirty-five years I have owned my own business specializing in the restoration of historic windows on large landmark buildings across the United States. When I sold my business in 2021 I knew immediately that the time was right to let my artist skills take flight.

Although I have attended classes at the Kansas City Art Institute, my formal training was under the tutelage of my grandfather. I dedicate this chapter of my life to him!
